The Lovers Rock Lounge - Pictures & Review

For those who came down to the Lovers Rock Lounge on the 3rd of October 2007 at  Sequoia Ruby Lo I'm sure you will agree that it was fantastic. The Lovers Rock Lounge really is the place to be on the first Wednesday of every month. Not just for the vibes which are unparalleled but also for the networking, romancing, location in the center of London and luxurious setting. Pure vibes!

If you couldn't make it to the Lounge in October, why not join us on Wednesday November 7th. It's only £5 and if there's only one midweek event you'll attend monthly, this is the ideal way to kick back and relax to the sound of good music and among some great people. Superintendent Leroy Logan, The Met's most senior African Caribbean police officer dropped down (in his civvies of course - Kangol hat and all) to soak in the vibes. Great to see our top cop chilling off duty, and who would have known that the man knows his music - lovers and all. What cracked me up the most was when he asked our top ranking deejay Prezedent to play 'Police and Thieves'.

Paul 'Is There A Place In Your Heart For Me' Dawkins was down there too. Not just schmoozing, but also picking up the microphone to sing his hit tune from  back in the day when he was with the lover's rock group Tradition. Now that alone was an impromptu session that was worth the fiver many times over. That's the fantastic thing about the Lovers Rock Lounge, it's made for lovers and you never know which of our great musical stars might be dropping by to nice up the mic. They are unique magical moments that you'll be talking about for weeks.

Queen of lovers rock Carroll Thompson is of course your host every month at the Lovers Rock Lounge. And she never fails to sweeten the vibes by singing a couple of her own hits.

So we'll see you down at Lovers Rock Lounge at Ruby Lo's when Queen of lovers rock Janet Kay will be singing some of her hits (including 'Silly Games) and hopefully we'll get Janet and Carroll to sing a duet. Also come down and meet the Colourtelly crew, the ground-braking black television station and if you're not a subscriber, find out how you can watch ColourtellyONE and ColourtellyTWO for just 14 pence a day!

So, see you at Ruby Lo's, 23 Orchards Street London W1 on WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 7th (Ruby Lo's is opposite Selfridges Hotel, on Orchard Street (just off Oxford Street at Selfridges) . Doors open at 8pm. Caribbean food on sale provided by Cummin Up Carribean restaurant
